Versace 2010

Posted by mckayn1 on July 2, 2010

Based on an analysis of reviews and responses to the Versace 2010 campaign shot by Mario Testino, I may be the only person with something negative to say.

FANTASTIC CLOTHING…DISLIKE THE MODELS (Apart from Selezneva ♥)

The detail, body con dresses, sharp lines, sharp structure.  I call it: FASHION ARCHITECTURE

As there’s so much pictures I have picked a few I really like.

Alex Mabille

Posted by mckayn1 on July 2, 2010

Yes, I am here…

On my search for a model, I came across a designer which had the same name and im so glad this happend as I probably wouldn’t of heard of Alex Mabille for long time. His biography on his website is in spanish so It I could only interpret things from it. I believe has worked with Dior for their Ready-to-wear (“Pret-a-porter”) and Haute Couture lines and also John Galliano who is the Creative director for Dior.

When I look at the Alex Mabille 2010 collection “Pretty Chic” mixed with some roman styles. The shapes, fabric and attention to detail work very well together. The colour pallet is easy going with hints of black or black throughout for a more sophisticated look.
The collection also features a lot of lace and silk material which would be gentle on the body and from a editorial perspective fantastic to photoshoot. I don’t know what it is but there is something about this collection which reminds me of Mark Fast. It could be the calm runway show which allows the clothes to speak even louder. Hmm…great stuff!

A look back at Janice.

Posted by mckayn1 on June 13, 2010

When you see pictures like the ones below it makes you realise how valuable your youth is and how much plastic surgery DOES NOT always work in your favour. Natural beauty is always the most beautiful form. I decided to take a look at Janice Dickinson, one of the world’s first supermodels.

She has had a lot of botox and surgery but luckily for her she does not look like a wax sculpture from Madame Tussauds. You can still see her beauty even though her face does look quite stiff…

THEN…you see pictures like this and your jaw drops and thinks back to when she had a youth, the very thing that attracted photographers and scouters.

SAD SAD SAD.

Look at how beautiful she was:

The self portrait black and white picture has to be one of my favourite. Classic.

Chanel Alligator bag

Posted by mckayn1 on June 11, 2010

Yes Yes Yes.

This is what im talking about. When im rich I will be buying my wife one of these, hopefully by that time it won’t be considered as vintage.
With slight resemblence to the Gucci ‘new jackie’ bag, this bag has been condensed to a size of convience.

Congratulations Rafa!

Posted by mckayn1 on June 10, 2010

A slightly different topic area but it has to be done! My main man Rafael Nadal is back on the number 1 spot. He beat Sodering in the French Open final. He is currently the BEST! Federah is also considered the BEST! But Rafa is the BOSS! like Hugo lool

Happy birthday man.

Vogue Paris. Kate Moss.

Posted by mckayn1 on June 6, 2010

♥ Kate Moss ♥ Vogue Paris ♥

The French seem to LOVE Kate Moss. She has been on the cover within the space of three months I believe. The last one I saw was shot by one of my favourite photographs Mario Sorenti on a beach shure. She looks so natural.

This cover was also shot by Mario Sorenti but has taking a different approach, presenting the Supermodel in a slightly more, glamorous yet youthful but sexy approach. lol Yes, you can probably feel alot of emotions from this shoot.

Probably one of the biggest Kate Moss fans on this earth, I’ve never seen her look so GOOD recently. Glad to see, something to keep the haters (Nathaniel & Rita) silent for a while.

ROMERO BRYAN

I saw this dress on my facebook and I must admit, I haven’t really seen anything else like it. Entitled ‘Shady Mummy’, this dress is by Romero Bryan from the A/W 2010 collection. It’s a metallic black silk chiffon dress with vintage hand-made tassles available in Silver/Gold/Brown/Black £3290.00

£3290 !!! I know the dress is very unique but I would love to know how special these fabrics are in order to justify the price.  Im quite intrigued.

PATRICK COX

Give me these over Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Versace any dayyy! Literally, my jaw dropped. Priced at £225, which is not too bad considering other brand prices, if you wanna blow the budget on some new lofas, then these are must.

Yuliya Photoshoot

Posted by mckayn1 on May 30, 2010

Once again, another hetic photoshoot ruined by the British Weather. (This Damn Country!!!)

I was styling a photoshoot for photographer Yuliya of LCF. Shot in Angel Islington, we were only able to capture a few street shots due to the continous rain spells which was extremely annoying as the models, assistants and I were ready to go.

These series of photographs tell a story between a relationship between a guy and girl in the urban city. The shoot was influenced by Zoe Gaze; yet updated with a contemporary and sophisciated edge. The following brands used for the styling include:

– French Connection
– Marc B
– Marc by Marc Jacobs
– Zara
-Topshop
– Topman
– Uni Qlo
– KG by Kurt Geiger
– Kurt Geiger
– New Look
– Fire Trap
– WESC
– Office
– H&M

(I know right…good line up)

UNFORTUNATELY, the rain was so terrible we were only able to shoot three out of the twelve outfits. The mood and atmosphere when completely down so we decided to call it a day. To be frank, “shit happens”, no matter how much effort you may put into something but you really just have to take that same energy that was in a way concealed from a bad shoot and transfer to a new one. Yuliya and I will most definately work together again so watch this space.

There is a quote which says “Better than succeeding little by little is failing at one go” & Yuliya really took a negative and turned it into a postive. Take a look at some of the pictures which were taken.

Gucci Fall Winter 2010-2011

Posted by mckayn1 on May 16, 2010

Gucci Fall Winter 2010 – 2011 presented us with loads of velvet blazers, rich colours and functional accessories. Velvet, an often hard material to use in menswear clothing because of it’s slightly feminine association; Gucci still pulled it off. I particularly like the Gucci print on the rich navy blue blazer. Sometimes Gucci make the problem of over branding their designs which can “give it away”, as in making it too easy for people to spot where it’s from which is boring and no fun.

I really like the colour pallet aswell with the brown and beige which moves into navy blue, silver, burgundy, purple and two velvet gold pieces. Also the shoes are sick!

Here are some of my favourite looks.
