Ty Ogunkoya

Posted by mckayn1 on April 26, 2010

When working on Carnaby St you meet loads of interesting and cool people or celebrities and semi famous people. My lunch break came and I began power walking to McDonalds for my McChicken Sandwich meal (yesss) when I suddenly saw a familiar face. To my surprise I came across one of the world’s successful black models, Ty Ogunkoya.

I approached him and said “Aren’t you a model” and he replied “yea man” and got shy as most people don’t recognise high fashion models. He was cool and down to earth. So I praised him about his accomplishments and took a pic. Very unique man.

Mainly recognised for his editorial work and the United Colours of Bennetton campaign, this guy has been in nearly every magazine.  Take a look at some of his work…

This is so weird but what i good idea for an editorial !

New Models

Posted by mckayn1 on April 14, 2010

It would be fair to say I live on {}. Some of my friends don’t understand my idea of beauty, mainly because when you go into an industry like ‘fashion’ your exposed to all different types of beauty which can easily open up ones narrow mind.
New face Omaryra Ventura has really caught my attention with her low brows, jaw structure and un-missable large forehead. Yet she does not look odd.

With the rush of all these strange and weird looking models who all have this alien-esque thing about them, it makes me miss the slightly commercial and classic beauty which appreciates full lips, big eyes and big hair. Check out Chrishell Stubbs. The third picture is sick! Look at the depth in her cheeks. *thumbs up*

UNIQUE OR WHAT! However, he looks slightly middle aged even though he is only 18 or 19. Hmmm…?

Nick White Test Photoshoot

Posted by mckayn1 on April 11, 2010

In the early hours of the morning I found myself in Seven Sisters, Tottenham N17 outside the Nick White ‘Big Red Chimney’ photography studio. The weather was great but this particular shoot was studio based. Once everyone had arrived on set we began to set up the lighting, equipment, polystyrine boards etc…

The make-up artist began to work on our two models for the day Valcine Ngele & Molly, giving them simple look with bright stand out lipstick. The clothes were all lined up and we began the styling. With various clothes designed by Samantha Kingsley and other brands such as American Apparel, Topshop and Reiss; our sophisticated looks began to come alive.

I chose this Reiss blazer attached with tassles on the shoulder and one of the looks for the shoot. Along with Reiss high waisted shorts. AND YES! I know you’ve spotted it already, I couldn’t help but insist Samantha used this tassel clutch bag with the blazer to complete the look. I personally believe it would be a sin not to. At a total price of £358 we created the perfect sophisicated look for the modern day chic woman. Reiss NEVER fails me; wether it is womenswear or menswear, there is always something for a youthful or tailored look.

Blazer: Reiss £159
Clutch Bag: Reiss £110

Blazer: Zara £65.00

What do you do when your surrounded by two half naked models looking ever so good, styled in clothes every woman wish she has in her wardrobe? You take a picture and act as if more happend behind set! lool

iJoke iJoke.

Yes Read it and weep guys…read it and weep. 🙂

Samantha Kingsley is an upcoming designer who is currently studying at ‘The London College of Fashion’. I’ve known her from college and have realised “she always gets what she wants”. My favourite design of Samantha’s has to be the green dress modelled by Valcine. Great to shoot with and the frills on the dress work very well with the wind. Also the green is a brilliant colour and sits very well with the ‘Pretty Chic’ trend of 2010.

Behind the Scenes. Beautiful.

Now onto the pictures. Here are a select few I have chosen. Feel free to place your opinion.

Summer Time

Posted by mckayn1 on April 10, 2010

Summer Time.

All it took was a few shimmers of light shining from the sun above to motivate me to cop some Sabre Shades. Ohhh yesss, they are fly indeed; you can always tell when your glasses are fly when you continuosly get ‘screwed’ or weird looks from other people of the same sex, specially if your a male. But who gives a ****. Looking good is key…correct?

Alot of people have Ray Bans. Now don’t get me wrong, they are sick and i’ll probably end up getting a pair but im more of a original person and HATE looking like everybody else on the street. This is why I got Sabre’s, another well established substitute brand heavily based around urban and street culture.

Maison Close Lingerie 2010

Ever seen Lingerie look so high fashion? Well here it is from Maison Close Lingerie 2010. This looks like a lingerie collection designed by Mark Fast or something. And the model compliments it so well.

Raquel Zimmerman

Posted by mckayn1 on April 4, 2010

Raquel Zimmerman looking very appealing in these photos. First time I’ve seen her look very commercial and “pretty”.  Shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadi for Vogue Nippon. It was styled and edited by George Cortina who is a huge figure within the industry, having worked on countless Vogue Nippon and other magazines like Harpar’s Bazaar. The second and fourth picture are my favourites.

I keep telling people, “you think LV and Gucci are expensive, you really have no idea” I usually follow this sentence with a brief mention about Balmain who’s prices make the garments only accessible by the rich and wealthy. One of their latest garment price tags sore so high.

Balmain leather jacket made of crocodile skin.
