Mario Sorrenti Portrait of Kate Moss

Posted by mckayn1 on March 31, 2010

And people ask me what I like her so much. Mario Sorrenti shot a portrait of Kate Moss at the beach. I love all her pictures in these type of locations because it brings you back to when Kate Moss first started out. Her innocent waif look is still very much present. I guess thats what happens when you get out of London, you finally get some peace and tranquility.

The Mise en Scene is undoubtely one of the best aspects of these pictures also; white sand beaches, blue sea and sunshine. You can even see the hint of blue in the rocks (picture 3) that she is posing on.

ONE OF THE BEST BONE STRUCTURES I HAVE EVER SCENE. (Natasha Poly’s can ‘almost’ rival it)

Viktor & Rolf A/W 2010/2011

Posted by mckayn1 on March 29, 2010

Down at the Viktor & Rolf A/W 2010/2011 show or should i say factory, the designers came out and got to work right infront of their audience. The lights came on and the first model was standing there with a massive silhouette. The duo used masses of fur as usual. Although we as an audience can visually connect with the designers and how they work, I felt the show was very long. However, with all that said it was Pure Genius. A MUST SEE!

All of the close are PERFECT for editorial work. Ooohhhh if only I had a camera, my own studio or was a stylist!

YvesSaintLaurent

Posted by mckayn1 on March 14, 2010

Without being bias, my favourite designer of all time YvesSaintLaurent which is run by new creative director Stefano Pilati has impressed me so much with his new collection. I always love the shapes created in the collection but the colour pallet is usually surrounded by black which can become quite repetitive. Black, classic and sexual chic is the trademark style of YSL. However, the latest 2010 ready to wear collection presented the top editors and fashionista’s with COLOUR.

The colour pallet included…*deep breath*:

  • Black (Essentials)
  • White (Essentials)
  • Grey
  • Royal Blue
  • Emerald Green
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Turquoise
  • Yellow

The cut and shapes of the clothes took me back to more of the classic 70’s influenced clothes designed by Mr Laurent himself “Stefano Pilati said  after the show when discussing the collection that it paid ” homage to YSL and the rigorous tailleur.”  The plastic material place over the jacket was unusual but Stefano Pilati said that “It’s about protection,”

The heels also looked abit to me punk rock but whether it was inspired by this highly questionable as it is not expected from YvesSaintLaurent. We can always count of YSL to come up with some of the best heels out of all of the catwalk shows. It’s just in their nature!

MY TOP 3 FAVOURITE LOOKS FROM THE SHOW!
